The Boston Business Journal recently released its annual list of largest museums in Massachusetts and New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill was included.

New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill has seen a dramatic increase in visitation over recent years, growing from 80,073 in 2012 to 143,397 in 2017.

The fall 2018 edition of the BBJ’s Book of Lists included a updated collection of the largest 25 museums in the Bay State. New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill ranked 24th, just ahead of the Old State House in Boston and just behind Heritage Museum & Gardens in Sandwich. At the top of the list is the New England Aquarium in Boston with 1.4 million visitors in 2017.

In addition to New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill, the two other Worcester County museums on the list are the Ecotarium, ranking 21st, and Old Sturbridge Village, landing 15th.

New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill opened an additional parking lot this fall and its updated Master Plan calls for more spaces in the near future to accommodate the growing interest in the botanic garden, located on 171 acres in Boylston, Mass., just 10 miles from downtown Worcester.
