No need to have a green thumb! Whether you are new to New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill or a long-time member you can become a volunteer.

Volunteering at New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill is a great way to learn more about plants and meet new people with similar interests in a beautiful environment. Our volunteers are the lifeblood of New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill. They assist the New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill staff in nearly every aspect of garden management. From greeting guests and caring for the Gardens, assisting with special events, the garden shop, and youth education programs, the volunteers contribute their time and are committed to helping New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill with our mission: to create experiences with plants that inspire people and improve the world.

Who can volunteer: You can! If you are 16 years and older, you can volunteer.

100 hours: A voucher to attend a New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill class (maximum value: $25.00)
125 hours: NEW! A $50 Bring a Friend upgrade to your Individual membership to New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill (non-transferable)
150 hours: NEW! A complimentary docent tour for you and up to 7 guests. Please schedule with April Tougas.

In order to achieve these benefits, volunteer hours must be earned within a calendar year.  Volunteer hours are cumulative throughout the calendar year.

On site opportunities available:

Weeding, dead-heading, pruning, planting, sweeping and other garden maintenance. Volunteers work outdoors in the formal and wild gardens on weekday mornings. April through October.

Lead guided garden tours, answer general garden questions. Requires attending training. View information here.

Greet and direct guests. Walk through the Gardens and talk to guests about exhibitions, shows and activity locations.

Lead or assist youth drop-in classes and activities such as Learn & Grow and Exploration Station.

New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill’s community outreach efforts build long-term partnerships within the greater Worcester community, to improve public green spaces.
