We are excited to share that the Worcester Tree Initiative, a part of the Outreach Department at New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill, was recently highlighted by the prestigious Botanic Gardens Conservation International. The group, which represents gardens in more than 100 countries, released a technical review on “The role of botanic gardens in practising and promoting environmental sustainability” in April of 2020.

Here is a look (Page 21) at the portion of the report that cites Worcester Tree Initiative’s role in planting trees in the community after the infestation of the Asian longhorn beetle.
