Around the World in 80 Minutes: An Evening of Solo Piano

Join pianist Julia Scott Carey for a special solo piano performance featuring music from around the world. Set in the Garden’s iconic Limonaia conservatory at golden hour, this one-of-a-kind program will take you on a musical journey across the globe—along the rivers of the Peruvian mountains, across the beaches of New Zealand, through the icy waters of Greenland, and everywhere in between. Featuring music by seven contemporary composers, each piece reflects the distinctive character and beauty of the people and places that inspired it.
Doors and concessions open at 6:30 p.m. Music begins at 7 p.m. A selection of beer, wine, and light snacks will be available for purchase during the event. Outside alcohol is not permitted at the Garden. Menu coming soon.

This event is a formal, sit-down concert experience. The event takes place in the picturesque setting of New England Botanic Garden’s Limonaia conservatory. Seating will be arranged in traditional rows of chairs and guests may select their seats upon arrival on a first-come, first-served basis. Light snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.
The concert features pianist Julia Scott Carey performing seven pieces inspired by various people, places, and natural landscapes across the globe. Doors and concessions open at 6:30 p.m. and the performance begins at 7 p.m. The performance takes place in two sets, with a 15-minute intermission halfway through the program. The performance will conclude around 8:30 p.m.

New England Botanic Garden will be closed from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. If you arrive early, please wait in your vehicle until doors open at 6:30 p.m.
If you are visiting during general admission hours but have tickets to the concert that evening, we ask that you please exit the property and return at the time listed on your event ticket.
The concert takes place indoors in our Limonaia conservatory. Our outdoor gardens and trails will not be accessible during these evenings.
Drinks and light snacks will be available for purchase during the event. Concessions will be closed throughout the performance but will reopen during the 15-minute intermission approximately halfway through the evening. Outside alcohol is not permitted at the Garden. Menu coming soon.

While we love our furry, four-legged friends, pets are not permitted during special after-hours events like this concert. Service animals are welcome throughout the property during all open hours.
This concert is an indoor event that takes place in all weather conditions. In the case of hazardous weather, New England Botanic Garden may decide to cancel an evening. If an event is cancelled, you will be notified by email as soon as possible on the day of your visit and you will receive a full refund for your reservation.
Tickets for this concert are non-refundable and are only valid for the date selected. Tickets can be rescheduled to a different evening of Around the World in 80 Minutes for a $10 fee but only if tickets are still available for a different evening. Ticketholders must call 508-869-6111 x174 to reschedule by 5 p.m. the day before the date on their original ticket.
Plan to arrive between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. After parking your vehicle, proceed up the path into the Visitors Center. Please have your ticket/confirmation email printed or available to show on your phone for our front desk staff to check you in.
We have a large, well-lit parking lot on site. There is no charge for parking.

If you choose to use Uber, Lyft, or another taxi service, please note that our entry gate on French Drive will close automatically for arriving vehicles at the end of the event. Please plan to be picked up before the property closes at 9:00 p.m. We recommend scheduling rideshares in advance.
