CAPITAL AND ENDOWMENT GIFTS

Our gardens and buildings exist purely because of the extraordinary generosity of our supporters, both past and present.

Capital gifts are donations that are typically contributed for the purpose of advancing a particular project, program, or initiative. Such gifts may be given to help build a new garden, develop a new educational initiative, underwrite a lecture series, or fund the purchase of a much-needed piece of equipment.

Donations to our endowment are an investment in our future and provide New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill with financial assets and annual income that sustain the organization for the long-term. Endowment funds exist to maintain and expand our horticultural collections, to sustain our music and arts offerings, to support our ongoing operations, and expand our inclusive programming. A donor may contribute to our General Endowment, to existing funds, or establish a new fund.  Gifts to the endowment may be made outright, as well as be provided for through a Planned Gift.

The $1.5 million McDonough Match offers donors to the general endowment an opportunity to double the impact of their gift and build a sustainable future for the New England Botanic Garden.
