MORE WAYS TO GIVE
There are several ways to make a meaningful gift to New England Botanic Garden. You can ensure that the Garden continues to inspire, educate, and delight for years to come.
CORPORATE MATCHING
You can double the impact of your gift by exercising a matching gift from your employer. Your HR department can provide you with matching gift information. If you are completing your employee form, New England Botanic Garden’s (Worcester County Horticultural Society) Employer Identification Number (EIN) is: 04-1988945.
DONOR-ADVISED FUND (DAF)
Giving through your Donor-Advised Fund enables a more tax and cost-efficient alternative. Learn more here.
GIFTS OF STOCKS AND OTHER SECURITIES
Giving appreciated stock, mutual funds, or other securities can help you avoid capital gains taxes while providing important support to New England Botanic Garden. To receive the stock transfer instructions, contact Theresa Lee at tlee@nebg.org, or 508.869.6111 x168.
QUALIFIED CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTIONS (QCDs)
With an IRA-qualified charitable distribution (QCD), also known as an IRA charitable rollover, you may make direct charitable distributions of up to $100,000 from your traditional, rollover, or Roth IRAs without including such distributions in your gross income, if you meet the following requirements:
- You must be at least 70 1/2 years of age at the time of the transfer.
- The funds must pass directly from the donor’s IRA custodian to the Garden.
The gift may satisfy a donor’s IRA-required minimum distribution for the year. Since the amount of the direct charitable distribution can be excluded from the donor’s gross income, there is no federal income tax deduction available for such gifts.
QCDs are a tax-efficient way to make a gift and can easily become a recurring annual gift. Learn more here.
