PRIVATE YOUTH CLASSES
We at New England Botanic Garden would love the opportunity to collaborate with your youth group or organization through a range of private class offerings. Workshops are both educational and fun as students learn, explore, and create with hands-on projects and investigations. All programs are led by our experienced education department staff.
Included in your booking is admission to New England Botanic Garden along with a guided 90-minute-long program of your choice from the offerings below. Materials are included in the program price for up to 15 children. Larger groups can be accommodated on a case-by-case basis and will incur an additional fee or require multiple bookings.

Birding Adventure $250
Explore the gardens and trails as you learn to identify birds by their calls, plumage, and behavioral patterns.
Aquatic Critters $250
Learn about the lifecycle of frogs, how to identify a range of native aquatic species, and study aquatic microinvertebrates up close using water samples collected at our wildlife pond.
Adaptations Hike $250
Explore the diverse ecosystem at the garden and the unique adaptations exhibited by plants and animals in a variety of habitats through a series of educational games, animal specimen examination, and direct experience in species identification.
Learn the science of plant illustration as you draw from life in the gardens and then bring vibrance to your work with guided instruction of watercolor techniques.
Floral Bouquets $450
Study the science of flowers as we dissect a flower, construct an upcycled plant press to preserve petals, and then make a unique flower arrangement in a vase.
Fairy Houses & Gnome Homes $400
Discover the magic of the garden as you collect natural materials and use other provided materials to build your own fairy house or gnome home in a basket. Please note, this class requires the use of hot glue guns.
Plant Slime $375
Learn about the sticky, slimy, and sometimes disgusting adaptations of carnivorous plants and mix up your own plant inspired slime recipe.
Gardening 101 $350
Get your hands dirty as you learn the basics of planting and cultivation in our Climate Garden. Pot seeds to take with you and use the skills you’ve learned to grow your own plant at home *Not offered October through April.
No Pot Planters $525
Learn about kokedama, a meditative form of moss ball planting, and construct and decorate your own planter containing a 3-inch house plant.
Terrific Terrariums $450
Explore our subtropical plants as you learn about cacti and succulent care and then create a terrarium complete with a live plant, sea glass, sand, marbles, and more.
PAYMENT
Your full program fee must be paid in advance of your scheduled program. Once your program is confirmed, you will receive an invoice via email. Please contact our finance department as referenced on your invoice within 2-weeks or receipt. Check or credit card payments are accepted.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Please contact us as soon as possible at 506.869.6111 x124 or aduffy@nebg.org if you would like to reschedule or cancel your program. A full refund will be made if the cancellation is requested at least two weeks in advance. Cancellations less than two weeks before the program date will forfeit the program fee (exceptions will be made if the cancellation is mutually agreed upon and due to inclement weather).
