March 2026

Aluminum mesh, frost cloth, plastic fencing. Materials, both humble and unexpected, gain new life when incorporated into the astral botanical sculptures created by Cicely Carew for Elevated, An Orchid Exhibition. Carew, based in Boston, is an artist, educator, wellness facilitator, mother, and nature-lover. So, what draws her to materials more often found at construction sites (and sometimes at gardens)?

“Something that creates a barrier can actually become a bridge,” she says, reflecting on her work and the message she hopes to impart—one of joy, hope, and a refreshed sense of connection.

Take a trip into Cicely’s studio to learn more about her creative vision for the sculptures of Elevated and glimpse the behind-the-scenes collaboration between artist and Garden that brings this year’s spectacular orchid exhibition to life.

Experience the beauty and elegance of Elevated now through March 22. And mark your calendars for the Orchid Sale, April 3, your opportunity to add some of the spectacular plants from the exhibition to your home collection.
