CHILDREN’S BIRTHDAY PARTIES!

Make your child’s birthday party one to remember and host their special day with us!  

Included in your onsite rental package is admission to New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill’s beautiful gardens and trails for up to 30 guests (adults and children), a guided one-hour long program from our menu below led by a New England Botanic Garden Teacher Naturalist, program materials for up to 15 children, and use of tables and chairs. No need for goody bags, each child will also take home a project or kit unique to the party theme.  

Each reservation can last up to three hours with an additional thirty minutes before and after for setup and cleanup. Parties are hosted in your choice of Classroom C inside our Stoddard Education Center or our open-air pavilion in the Ramble, our children’s garden between the hours of 10AM and 5PM. Client is responsible for decorations. We ask that you do not bring balloons, confetti, or glitter, and request that all décor be free-standing and not affixed to walls, ceilings, or plants. Party packages are priced at $450 for members and $500 for non-members, plus sales tax. A non-refundable $50 deposit is required at the time of booking to guarantee your party reservation. The remaining balance, plus tax is due 10 days prior to your event date. Please note that package includes pricing for up to 15 children and up to 15 adults. Any additional children or adults will incur an additional fee.  

All party packages include a room rental for up to three hours, a guided one-hour long program, program supplies for up to 15 children, admission for up to 30 guests, and use of tables and chairs.

Dinosaur Terrarium Party
Learn about the amazing adaptations of some of our strangest plants and use your imagination to create your own miniature prehistoric open-air terrarium. Each child will create their own unique glass terrarium complete with a succulent or cactus, a small dinosaur figurine, and décor including sand, sea glass, rock, and more.

Fairy Garden Party
Discover the magic of the gardens as we embark on a magical fairy fantasy adventure. Search for signs of fairies in our gardens and along our trails, construct a trailside fairy house, craft a magic wand out of natural materials, and take home your own pair of magical fairy wings.

Incredible Insects Party
Learn what makes an insect an insect and uncover incredible facts about your favorite six-legged friends. Join us for a guided Insect Safari and explore our gardens, trails, and meadows in search of resident species and take home an entomology kit, perfect for embarking on your own insect adventures.

Mythical Masks Party
Let your imagination soar and join us to create a wearable unicorn or dragon mask. Combine paper, yarn, feathers, and magical decorations to bring your mask to life. Wear your mask as you brew up your own magical potion, and then search for signs of magic in our gardens and along our forest trails  

Plant Slime Party
Learn about the sticky, slimy, and sometimes disgusting adaptations of carnivorous plants and mix up your own plant inspired slime recipe. Practice following step-by-step directions and measurement as we mix up two batches of slime complete with glitter, food coloring, essential oils, and more.

What times are available for party reservations?
Parties are hosted during regular daytime hours. The Garden is open 7 days a week from 10AM to 5PM.

What if I just want to rent a room without a birthday party package?
Private event rentals are handled through our Private Events Department. Please visit our Social Events page or contact events@nebg.org for more details.   

What if I have more than 30 guests? 
Additional adults will incur an additional admission fee and will be admitted at our group rate pricing of $18.90 per guest. Additional children will incur an additional admission and materials fee and will be admitted at $16 per guest. Parties with 18 children or more will require a second educator and will incur an additional $100 fee. Please note our rental space cannot accommodate more than 45 guests. 

Will Garden staff entertain for the entire party block?
Garden educators will be onsite to check in and answer questions or provide support for the duration of the party but will only entertain for the guided one-hour portion of the party. 

Are parties suitable for any age?
We recommend party packages for children ages 4 and up. Activities and instruction can be scaled up or down to suit the age and abilities of the group. Adult helpers are recommended for parties with children under the age of 6.  

Will my party have exclusive use of the space?
Indoor parties will have exclusive access to that room. Parties held under our open-air pavilion in the Ramble, our children’s garden, will have a reserved section of the pavilion. We are unable to guarantee private access to the entire pavilion area. 

What happens in the case of inclement weather?
Outdoor bookings will be moved indoors to Classroom C of our Stoddard Education Center.  

How early can I come in to set up?
Rental packages include thirty-minutes of set up and thirty-minutes of cleanup before and after your booked party block.  

Can I bring confetti or balloons?
Confetti and balloons can be harmful to wildlife. We ask that these items remain at home.
