FAQs
How can I prepare for my visit?
Download our school & youth group visit guide here. See our pre and post activity section for additional resources.

How do I pay?
Payment must be made in advance or on the day of the program via check or credit card. If your group is coming on multiple days, please have payment ready on the first scheduled day. Refunds will not be made for last minute absences.

Can we stay and have lunch?
Yes! The field trip fee includes the cost of admission. Groups are welcome to arrive early or stay late and have lunch while enjoying the gardens. There are plenty of scenic vistas for your group’s enjoyment. We ask that you please take all trash with you upon leaving the site. Please note, indoor space is limited and must be coordinated in advance.

What if we need to reschedule or cancel?
Please contact us directly at 508.869.6111 ext. 132 as soon as you know of any decision to postpone or cancel.

How many chaperones should we bring?
New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill requires a minimum of 1 chaperone per every 10 children and a maximum of 1 chaperone per every 5 children. This is included in the cost of the program. Additional chaperones over the 1:5 ratio pay the group rate of $14.40.

What happens in case of inclement weather?
All programs are held rain or shine, please dress accordingly. In the case of severe weather all trips are adapted for an indoor lab experience. New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill follows the Boylston school schedule. In the case of a cancellation we will work with you to reschedule your visit within the month.

What if my group is running late?
Please contact us directly at 508.869.6111 ext. 132. We are unable to guarantee a full program if you are more than 15 minutes late.

What if the available time slots don’t work for my group?
Time slots during peak season (spring) cannot be adjusted. Due to the high demand during this season New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill is only able to accommodate groups during certain time periods. Consider a trip in winter or fall to tour our conservatories or observe peak foliage.

What if my question isn’t listed?
Please contact the Manager of Youth Education, Marissa Gallant at youtheducation@nebg.org or 508.869.6111 ext. 132 for any other questions.
