YOUTH PRIVATE CLASSES 

Whether you are a homeschool group, youth organization, or virtual learning pod our private workshops are fun and educational for children of all ages. Come visit and enjoy a program at the garden or participate virtually from your classroom or home. Onsite program attendees will be asked to adhere to New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill’s garden visitation guidelines to ensure the safety of staff and participants. Program fees include up to 15 children onsite or up to 20 virtually. Materials are not included for virtual instruction, however upon registration, participants will receive a private Zoom link to share with their group, a packet of supplemental information, handouts, and a supply list with recommended vendors. Onsite programs are 90 minutes in length and live virtual programs are 60 minutes in length

RESERVATIONS

Fee $350 onsite; $150 live virtual instruction 
Learn how to take care of some of New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill’s strangest plants and use your imagination to create a magical terrarium in this hands-on workshop. We will learn the basics of cacti and succulent care and decorate our own miniature terrariums complete with a live plant, sand, stones, sea glass, and more.  

Fee $400 onsite; $150 live virtual instruction 
Use your imagination to dream up your own magical mythical garden. Learn about the basic needs of plants, start a growing journal, and create an 8” dish garden in a terracotta pot complete with two plants and a dragon or unicorn figurine. Decorate your garden with rock, marble, sand, shells, and more. 

Fee $300 onsite; $150 live virtual instruction 
Learn the basics of keeping a nature journal and create your own personalized hand-sewn, soft bound journal. Practice note keeping, labeling, and basic illustration. Head out on your own nature adventure and fill your journal with sketches and observations.   

Fee $300 onsite; $150 live virtual instruction 
Practice observational drawing and capture the detailed textures and colors of leaves, branches, bark, and flowers using graphite and color pencils. Together we will explore basic color theory and drawing techniques including cross-hatching and smudging.  

Fee $350 onsite; Not offered virtually  
Explore the magical world of fairies and gnomes as we take to the trails and search for all-natural materials to construct and decorate our miniature abodes. We will create our own unique fairy houses or gnome homes in a basket using bark, twigs, rock, moss, leaves, and most importantly our imaginations. 

PAYMENT
Your full program fee must be paid in advance of your scheduled program. Once your program is confirmed, you will receive an invoice via email. Please contact our finance department as referenced on your invoice within 2-weeks or receipt. Check or credit card payments are accepted.   

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 
Please note, that for virtual programs, the requesting group is responsible for the functionality of their participants audio-visual equipment, which includes projectors, screens, computers, speakers, cameras, internet access, etc. Prior to your virtual program date please ensure that all equipment is in working order. New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill is not responsible for any technical difficulties that may occur during the program nor is it the responsibility of New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill, or its instructors, to ensure that your audio-visual equipment is in working order. You will not receive a refund if your program is unable to run due to a failure of participants audio-visual equipment.    

CANCELLATION POLICY
Please contact us as soon as possible at 508-869-6111 x132 or youtheducation@nebg.org if you would like to reschedule or cancel your program. A full refund will be made if the cancellation is requested at least two weeks in advance. Cancellations less than two weeks before the program date will forfeit the program fee (exceptions will be made if the cancellation is mutually agreed upon and due to inclement weather).
